Barr Lake Bird Banding Station – Small Group Visits

Join us at Barr Lake State Park’s Banding Station this fall with your small group to experience the joys and wonders of banding right up close!
Registration is required for all visitors. All participants are required to wear face masks and social distance, and groups are set at no more than 6 to ensure safety of all visitors, staff, and volunteers.
Where:
Barr Lake State Park, 13401 Picadilly Road, Brighton, CO 80603
Directions: Once in Barr Lake State Park, follow signs to the Nature Center parking lot. To the west of the lot, cross the bridge and turn right and follow the trail north for ~1/3 mile or 10-minute walk. The Banding Station is on the left.
Please note: Since we are located in Barr Lake State Park, there is a $9/vehicle state park fee
When:
Open daily from Tuesdays, Thursdays through Sundays, August 25th through October 11th. Participants are able visit for hour time slots between 8am and 11am (8-9am, 9-10am, or 10-11am).
Schedule is weather permitting. Station is closed during rain or high winds, and may close early during very hot weather and open later if very cold.
Registration is required for all visitors ages 4+
An hour program is $5/participant. Scholarships are available; please complete a scholarship application before signing up for your visit.
