Land Conservation Workshop

Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is teaming up with Natural Resources Conservation Service to offer a workshop in Bison, SD focusing on private lands conservation. Land owners will learn about the economics of grazing cover crops, utilizing cool season grasses, and using birds as habitat indicators. Join us Thursday, May 30th for a free landowner dinner and workshop! Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust, Colorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust (CCALT) and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies will be hosting a workshop on drought mitigation strategies for livestock operations, easement 101 and tax credit process, and the habitat conservation plan.

Private Land Wildlife Habitat Tours (NE Colorado)

Join private land wildlife biologists from Northeastern Colorado on a series of private land habitat tours. Gain tips for habitat improvement on your land and meet your local biologist team. Tour the South Platte River riparian habitat in Logan County. Learn about riparian wildlife needs, recommended grazing strategies, and tips for improving sloughs and sandbars for waterfowl and shorebirds. Speakers include biologists from Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies.
