Join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies staff, board, volunteers, Friends and members for a morning celebrating 30 years of progress in conserving birds and their habitats during Earth Day weekend. Guided bird walks, bird banding demonstrations, live bird presentations, educational activities for kids and adults, lunch, birthday cake and a kite festival hosted by Friends of Barr Lake are included in the morning’s festivities.

LOCATION: Barr Lake State Park Nature Center (13401 Picadilly Rd, Brighton, CO 80603)

Admission is $5 per vehicle and includes park entrance fees, lunch and entrance to the kite festival.

Event Schedule:
8:00 – Guided bird walks, bird banding and coffee
9:30 – Live bird presentation by Nature’s Educators
10:00 – Kite Festival sponsored by Friends of Barr Lake State Park, Bird Conservancy educational booths and activities
11:30 – Bird Conservancy 30th anniversary presentation, Nelda Gamble Award and guest speakers
Noon – lunch
12:30 – cake
